A RECIPE.

Sifl 2 level cups flour, 3 level teaspoons baking powder, and a pinch salt. Rub in 3 level tablespoons margarine with fingertips. Beat 1 egg, add 1 level tablespoon sugar and about -J- cup milk. Form into a soft dough and spread in shallow tart plate. Peel, core 4 large apples and cut into about 8 slices, press into dough evenly. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar, mixed with teaspoon ground cinnamon. Rake in a hot oven for alvout 30 minutes or until apples arc cooked. Serve with boiled custard or lemon sauce.
