RUGBY UNION.
NEW DOMINION PRESIDENT. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 18. The closing of nominations for officebearers for the New Zealand Rugby Union resulted in the presidency going unopposed to Mr L. V. Carmine (South Auckland), who was nominated by the Auckland, King Country and Wanganui Unions. The new president will succeed Mr M. McKenzie (Marlborough) when the election of officers is held at the annual meeting in Wellington ort May 2. There are many nominees lor other positions on the union. Two vice-pre-sidents arc required and there are eight candidates.
