TENSION IN WEST
iMISTRUST OF GERMANY. LUXEMBOURG ALARMED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, April IG. The Brussels correspondent of the Times says many of the inhabitants of Luxembourg, fearing an invasion, have moved to Namur and other Belgian towns. The Germans' are reported to have erected twenty-one pontoon bridges across the Moselle at intervals of three hundred ya.rds. A disquieting number of German tourists are entering Luxembourg. , The Belgian authorities have arrested a number of aliens. SWISS PRECAUTIONS. A Berne message says the Swiss Federal Council has announced that the necessary steps have been taken for the security of the nation. The announcement followed reports from Basle that the fifteen German divisions which were withdrawn from the region north of Switzerland’s frontier when Denmark and Norway were invaded had returned. The Swiss General staff is calling up further battalions.
