POHANGINA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) POIIANCINA, April 17. At a meeting' of the Pohangina Methodist Ladies’ Guild at the home of Mrs .7. Maddison, Mrs C. F. Wagstaff presided. Interesting letters from sisters in Maori mission work were read by Miss Sinclair. The competition was for an infant’s handknitted vest, and the entries are to be sent to one of the sisters who are working among the Maori people. Mrs F. Wagstaff was awarded first prize 1 and Mrs G. Drummond second. Mrs Sinclair_ was the winner of an amusing competition, while Miss Sinclair gained second place. A “bring and buy” stall did brisk business thereby adding 18s 6d to the church renovation fund. It was decided to purchase material for pulpit curtains and cushions. Mrs Drummond’s invitation to hold the May meeting at her homo was accepted, and members were requested to bring their gifts for the Maori mission box to this meeting. Mrs M. Wagstaff, “Kllcrslio,” lias had her brother, Mr D. Campbell, and Mrs Campbell, of Christchurch, visiting her. Mr and Mrs Maddisor. have left for a holiday in Napier and Wellington. Mr and Mrs T. A. Turnbull are also visitors to Napier. Mr and Mrs X. 11. Monr and their son have returned from a holiday spent in Wellington. Mrs Klink, senr., who has boon staying with her daughter, Mrs A. Lumloy, of Otaki. has returned home. Mr and Mrs J. T. Moar are on holiday, part of which is being spent in Wellington. Mr G. Featherstone, of Wellington, is spending several weeks with Mr C. Maddison. Mrs A. Shadbolt had returned homo after several days in the Capital City.
