PROPOSED CALF POOL.
Afr P. Davies, chairman of the Jlnmua Dairy Company, was voted to the chart* at it recent meeting of directors of dairy companies operating throughout the Pahiatua and Ekelahuna districts. The chairman explained that it was desired to make i start in canvassing the districts so a* to induce at least 75 nor cent, of the dairy farmers who have calves to dispose of to sign the necessary requisition for the establishment of what is known as the pool system for the collection and disposal of bobby calves. It was desirable that the whole matter be thoroughly discussed, as it was quite evident that better resultu would accrue to farmers if a pool, controlled by themselves, was' formed. All the dairy companies ir. the district were represented either by their chairman or a director, and this was evidence that the matter was considered of great importance to them. Twenty-four of them were gathered in the room, and they represented men who had for disposal some thousands of boby calves. After a longthy discussion it was unanimously decided to form a nool within the districts named, that those present bo a committee to canvass the districts within the area, and that a report be presented to a full meeting to he Held in Pahialua shortly..
