FIRST CASUALTY LIST. FOXTON MAN MISSING. LONDON, April 15. The first casualty list of the Royal New Zealand Air Force is as follows: Corporal J. 11. Langridge, of Gisborne, reported missing on active service while participating in second Norwegian raid on April 11. Corporal Langridge was a wireless operator in a bomber and previously participated in raids on German ports. Flying-Officer K. J. A. Johnson, ol Auckland, missing, believed killed. Pilot-Officer D. A. Rankin, of Wellington, missing, believed killed. Pilot Officer G. J. D. Yorke, of Foxton, missing. Mr and Airs G. Yorke. of Cook Street. Foxton. received a cablegram on Saturday advising that, their son, Pilot-Officer Dcnr.il Yorke, had been reported missing following an engagement on April 12. Pilot-Officer Yorke was an cx-pupil of the Foxton District High School and was 20 years of age. lie applied to join the Royal Air l-’orcr in 1938 and was accepted,' leaving the. Dominion early last year, in company with Mr Maurice Baird also of Foxton, Prior to leaving he obtained his commission as a pilot-officer.
