The defence authorities will relinquish the Showgrounds in Palmerston North as a training ground for the Maori Battalion beloro May 15, according to advice received by the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association, at, its meeting to-day, from tiie military authorities. The letter said that it was not possible to give the exact date when the grounds would he vacated, lint it would he be I ore the date stated in the letter. The letter was received, the president (Mr C. E. Vile) saying that, liecause of tho future plans of the association, it had been necessary to inquire when the grounds would be vacated.
