POPULAR PATRIOTIC CONCERT

Tile concert arranged for Saturday night in the Opera House by Miss Alaiio AlofTatt in aid of the Patriotic Funds will no doubt attract a largo audience, and it may be of interest to intending patrons to know something of the items making up the programme. The symphony orchestra under the baton of Mr C. L. Alowlem will play the overture, “Morning, ‘Noon and Night,” the concert waltz, “Wine, Women and Song,” and Alfred Hill’s “AVaiata Poi.” They wilt also accompany Aliss Marie Aloffait in a pianoforte concerto by Alendelssohn and Air Bell with his xylophone in “Light Cavalry.” The vocalists will be Messrs Whitelock, Brown and Walden. Other contributors to the programme will he the Dohnanyi quintette, a piano accordion trio, and Alan Sundborn’s trio. The prices of admission are particularly low, namely 2s 6d, Is 6d and Is, and tickets may be purchased at the 0. M. Ross Co.. Ltd., and the reservation of seats made at the box plan at this firm. Day sales are also available at Alessrs Goldfinch and Cousins, Ltd. Intending patrons arc strongly advised to make their reservations early, as a largo attendance is anticipated. „
