(From Oar Own Correspondent.) AWAIIURI. April 12. At the annual mooting of the ladies’ branch of the National Party, Mrs AI. Rowlands presided. Members stood in silence as a mark of sympathy with members who had lost relatives. The financial statement, presented by Miss Bodily, proved to bo very gratifying; the membership was also steadily growing. Airs Rowlands was unanimously re-elected president and Aliss K. D. AlcKirdv secretary and treasurer. Thanks were expressed to Miss Roddy for the capable manner in which she hail carried out her duties, and regret was voiced that she could not see her way lu continue as secretary and treasurer. The committee wo* re-elected, with Misses L. E. Bennett and Young added, and Aiesdames Young and Goodman as vice-pre-sidents. It was decided to hold a social afternoon at the home of Airs N. Campbell in July. A successful garden party was held at the residence of Air and Airs J. C. Christian in aid of church funds. The gardens proved an ideal selting for such a party. Those in charge of the stalls were: Produce, Aliss Boddy, Mcsdumcs 11. A'lalthews, and Rowlands; sweets, and icecream, Alcsdamcs AJatheson and Learinonth; afternoon tea and supper, supervised by Airs Goodman, with Mesdames Redmaync. Cleaver, Montgomerie, Christian and Oke and Aliss Bennett helping. The ball competition was won by Miss L>. Boddy and Mr F. Brock: nail driving. Miss Russell and Mr T. Pill: miniature golf, Aliss AI. Boddy; clock croquet. Airs L. Boddy and Mr Alnlhesou: distance stepping. Airs Glasgow- and Mr \V. Odgers: quoits. Aliss D. Boddy. In the evening electric lights had been fitted in the grounds and members of the Feilding Pipe Band were present and rendered selections. Items wore also given by Misses Martin and Master Alartin, Rev. Air Martin, and .Miss D. Goodman. Mr Martin expressed appreciation to all who had given assi.-l anco, making special mention of Air and Mrs Christian and family. Decorated bicycles were judged by Airs Turner, of Ivairanga. and the plaeings were: Jean Goodman 1, Dorothy Goodman 2, Edmund Woodruffe 1, Michael Cole 2. Mrs B. Bond, accompanied by ber mother, lias returned home to Nelson alter spending a holiday with Air anil Airs E. O. Bond. Aliss Y. Bennett is spending a holiday with Air and Airs E. Bennett, of Lower Ilutt. Gunner ,T. A. Alontgomorjc. of Fort Dorset, is spending a few days wun his parents after receiving treatment in a private hospital in Palmerston North.
