SOCIAL FUNCTIONS.
The fortnightly dance at the West End School was held last evening and attracted the usual large crowd of patrons. Air W. Collins was M.C., and prize-winners were: Gay Gordons, Aliss Anderson and Air E. Rodgers; Monts Carlo, Miss AI. Davies and Mr E. Rodgers. An extra was played hv Air G. Read. There was a good attendance, at- the City Band dance held in the Oddfellows’ Hall. Alembers of the Maori Battalion and patrons from Fcvling were present. A professional orchestra supplied excellent dance music and an extra was played by Airs Reilly. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr G. Young. The novelties were: Gay Gordons, Airs Hincli? and Air Prouse; Monte Carlo, Aliss Hincks and Air Traill.
Very often suede 6lioes are put on one side just because the suede seems worn and the shoes not fit to put on. Add a few drops of ammonia to a little water, take a small brush, dip it in the solution and wash the shoes with it. You will be surprised at the result.
