COLLEGE STREET SCHOOL.
LADIES’ COMMITTEE. As a mark of esteem and appreciation for services rendered, the College Street School ladies’ committee held a very enjoyable afternoon jiarty yesterday, at the Rosco tearooms to farewell three retiring mem tiers. The guests due to lie honoured were Mesdames G. Watehorn, H. Mills and H. Christmas, and regret was expressed that through illness Airs Christmas was unable to attend and expressions of sympathy and wishes for her speedy recovery were voiced. A very dainty afternoon tea was served, the tables being decorated with flowers of pale shades. Bouquets were presented to the guests by Mrs AlcLeod, and on behalf of the ladies’ committee Airs Kennedy (chairwoman) spoke of the great loss the.se ladies would he, and of the splendid work they had done lor the good of the school. She asked Airs Watehorn to accept a gift of an evening hag with the thanks and good wishes of all members. In reply, Airs Watehorn voiced her thanks and spoke of the happy times spent on the committee, and wished it every success in the future. The opportunity was also taken to present Mrs McLeod with a spray and congratulate her on her fine record of having already served 19 years as a member of the committee. Those present were: .Mesdames Watehorn, Alills, Kennedy (chairwoman), Shackleton, Robson, Cooper, AlcLeod, Gush and W. Ross (secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames Christmas, Drake, Wright and Holdsworth.
