WILLARD HOME.

The A\ illard Children’s Home Hoard met yesterday afternoon, Mrs E. A. Collins presiding. Also present were Mesdames E. C. llarnett, C. E. Spooner, R. B .Robertson, D. J. Lovelock, E. J. Nathan, J. A. McLaavcy, J. B. Sankey, A. J. Earland, D. Watson and E. B. Jennings (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Mrs K. McDonald. The resignation of Mrs E. A. Shaw, on account of absence from the district, was received with regret. A report was received from the visitors to the home (Mesdames Robertson and Bariiett). The matron’s report stated that- the general health and conduct of the children during the month had been excellent, except for very slight colds. Four children had been admitted, two permanently and two temporarily. The home had again been tremendously helped by gifts of fruit, vegetables, eggs, bread, meat, fish and clothing. The Lutheran Church had donated its harvest thanksgiving produce, including vegetables, fruit, jam, preserves, pickles and three dozen fresh eggs. The Methodist, Congregational and Presbyterian Churches had also given their thanksgiving offerings. A splendid supply of vegetables had been put away for winter consumption. Provisions had also been donated by the Longburn freezing workers. Twelve dozen fresh eggs came from a well-wisher at Sanson and the local butchers were also keeping the home supplied. Mr Barnao had agreed to give fish once a week and Wool worths sweets once a fortnight, the latter also giving Easter eggs. Other friends had also given Easter eggs. Easier and the trip to the Exhibition had been greatly enjoyed by the children. Gratitude was due to "Mr Watson for meeting the train from Wellington and also for meeting some of the expenses. Gifts of odd crockery would be appreciated. A member of the Oamarn W.C.T.Uhad visited the home and expressed appreciation of it. Miss G. Laurenson had resumed duty as sub-matron after her recent indisposition. The draining of the drying green was authorised. The financial statement was received and accounts for £2l 14s Id were passed for payment. Members were reminded of the anniversarv day of the home, next- month. Mrs Collins explained the financial arrangements of the board to the new members.
