E. R. CHAPMAN’S GOOD ROUND. Played in a strong wind, the first competition of the season was held by the members of the Manawatu Golf Club on Saturday. E. It. Chapman won the A grade with a net score of 69 and AI. B. Osborne the B grade. The leading scores were: — A Grade.—E. It. Chapman, 75 —C— -69; L. Seifert, 82—10—72; F. J. King, 90—16—74; A. AI. Ongley, 89—14 75; C. G. Aloore, 82—6—76; T. Stubbs, 87—11—70; It. L. Harding, 89—13 76; It. M. Collis, 90—14—76; J. R. Aroffatt. 91—1.5—76; Iv. S. Gleiidmning, 78 —1—77; E. E. Alabin, 85—8 I 77; G. P. Hunter, 93—16—77; It. Sliand, 93 —16—77. B Grade—M. B. Osborne, 101—24 77; P. G. Miklon, 95—17—78; A". Sutton, 99—20—79; F. 11. Guinness, 98—18—80; J. P. Flood, 100—18—82. For the Stableford bogey competition played during the week-end there was a large entry. Tho best scores were: J. AV. Den by and J. Moffat t, 42 points; A. AI. Ongley and M. A. Ongley and E. It. Chapman and Iv. Grant, 41. The club’s professional, J. It. Galloway, who has not been playing much iatelv, carded an excellent round of 73 during the week-end. During the week-end the Palmerston North Golf Club opened its competition with the April medal round. The conditions were conducive to good scoring. J. M. Ramsay played good golf to card a net 71 and also win the A division. In the B grade M. E. Hughes and AV. Hopcroft had scores of 67 net and 68 net respectively. The leading scores were: A Grade.—J.
