GARDEN PARTY AT REST HOME. 'flic lovely grounds of “Kainga Aloe,” the Women’s Division rest home at Awapuni, made a splendid setting for the very successful garden party held on Saturday and organised by the Palmerston North branch. There was a very good attendance and a number of stalls and interesting competitions did good business. The garden party was declared open by Mrs W. E. Field, president of the Palmerston North branch of the W.D.F.U., and Mrs A. B. Smith (Dominion secretary) congratulated the organisers and thanked the Palmerston North branch' members for their work for the home. She also outlined the objects of the division. Those in charge of stalls and competitions were: Produce, Airs W. Montgomery and helpers; cakes, Mesdames C. Screech and Clausen ; nail driving, Airs McMahon; croquet, Airs Middleton; clock golf, Mesdames Robertson and Tomlinson; treasure hunt, A[csdames Green and Terry; weight guessing (pumpkin), Airs. Mills; afternoon tea, Mesdames Cook, Crouchor and helpers.
