FOOD SHORTAGE.
GERMANS’ PLIGHT. LONDON, April 12. The Brussels correspondent of the Times says substitute materials are appearing everywhere in Germany. A daily dose of Vitamin C in the schools and forces has replaced fresh fruit and vegetables, imports of which have ceased. Siegfried Line deserters say the soldiers’ food is deteriorating and tlie troops are receiving preserved food.
