PATRIOTIC CONCERT.

A grand patriotic concert which, it is felt, will appeal to all classes of the community is to be given in the Opera House next Saturday evening. The concert is being organised by Aliss Marie Moffat t., and one of the features of the programme will be (lie Mendelssohn pianoforte concerto with Aliss Moffntt as solo pianist, accompanied by a light symphony orchestra of 30 instrumentalists, under the eoniluetorship of Mr C. L. Mowlem. The orchestra will also lie heard in four other numbers, the overtures ‘Morning. Noon and Night,” and “Light Cavalry,” the latter featuring Mr C. 801 l on the xylophone, a Strauss waltz. “Wine. Women and Song.” and Alfred Hill’s well known “Waiata Poi." 1 There will also be contributions of outstanding merit by vocalists and instrumentalists. The box plan opens at. the C. M. Ross Co. on Wednesday morning.
