CO-OPERATIVE GUILD.

At a meeting of the Co-operative Women’s Guild Mrs Harrod was in the chair. This was the guild’s iourtli birthday and was celebrated with a social. The room was decorated with dahlias and a large birthday cake, made by Mrs F. Robertson, iced by Mrs \V. Oliver, and adorned with four candles, stood on a table in tbo centre of the room. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames V. and W. Caution. The candles were lighted by Mrs Kane, a visitor from Scotland, who also cut the cake. Items were rendered hv Mr Dawson (tap dances, accompanied by Miss King at the piano). Dawn Olsen (elocutionary item), Betty and Dawn Olson (duets, accompanied by Mr Dawson at the piano), Dawn Sollitt (a pupil of Miss I. Oliver, tap dance). A competition was won by Mrs Linda Bennett. Mrs Harrod was elected delegate to represent the guild at the annual co-opera-tive conference. Greetings were received from the secretary of the International Co-operative Women's Guild. Three now members were welcomed by the president.
