MANAWATU ASSOCIATION. FINAL GAME OF SEASON. The final games in the Manawatu Cricket Association’s competitions were commenced on Saturday. 'J he weather was fine, but a strong easterly wind made control of the ball difficult at times. There was only one senior A fixture, at the Sportsground, as Kia Toa and High School had defaulted to Falinerstou and Old Boys respectively. City opposed United. C. Me Vicar bowled exceptionally well for City, taking five wickets for 31 runs off 10 overs. THE HONOURS BOARD. SENIOR. BATTING.

SENIOR A. CITY’S LEAD. United in their first strike compiled G 1 runs and City at stumps had lost two wickets for 71. SENIOR B. OLD BOYS v. UNITED. Batting for nearly all the afternoon, Old Boys compiled' 164 runs in their match against United in the senior B division. At one stage Old Boys had lost five wickets for 33 runs, but the solid batting of G. Northover. McPherson and C. Burrows saved_ the side from a rout. Playing against the second eleven of the Palmerston North Boys’ High

School, on Saturday, the first eleven of the Dannevirkc High School won by S 3 runs on the first innings. With first use ot tile wicket, Dannevirko scored 152. The last wicket put on 49 runs. Grant's 53 being an attractive display, in reply Palmerston North could make only 09 and followed oil.
