CALM AND DIGNIFIED.
NORWEGIAN REACTION. Received April 13, 12.10 p.m. ' LONDON, April 12. Information having apparently reached Germany of the special train arrangements made for Edinburgh this -week, a German broadcast, in the obvious hope that it would play its part in the war of nerves, announced that Edinburgh bad ordered e vac nation following on the German aggression in Scandinavia. Unfortunately for the success of this story, Edinburgh has not been evacuated 1 The special arrangements were for the Edinburgh spring trades holiday. In a speech which M. Hamhro (President of the Norwegian Parliament) was (o have made on the Swedish wireless on April 11 and which has since been broadcast from an English 1 station to Norway, lie emphasised the calmness, dignity, and resolution which 1 the Norwegian Parliament and people had observed in the face of their tragic ordeal. A report, be said, bad come through a Legation in contact with the military chiefs in Norway of the determination which filled both them and their troops. Desnite all the immense difficulties-—and they should in no way lie under estimated-—mobil-isation, he said, was proceeding.
