FEILDING STOCK SALE.
CATTLE MARKET WEAKENS. STORE SHEER ALSO LOWER. At the Fcilding stock sale yesterday values tor fat and run cal tic fell, as did also the prices for boners. Tho demand for boners ■weakened on account of the works being full due tb beef killings. With the winter approaching the station cattle were not in strong demand, and the sale 6 effected were on a lower scale than those operating a few weeks ago. Dairy cattle, however, were in demand again and recent values were maintained. Fat sheep wore in shorter supply and prices remained unchanged. Store sheep were in the main of poorer quality than last week’s, and tho market was a shade easier. FAT SHEER. Ewes. —R. Harris sold a pen of 14 at 14s 3d: and T. Scarlo secured 14s Id for a pen of 5. Other Bales included : 20 at 15s 4d, and 20 at 15s. Lambs: Relatively small pens on account of P. 11. Halford, A. E. Billott and R. Waller made 22s 2d, 17s 6d, and 22s respectively. Wethers: On account W. T. Pratt, pen of 10 b.f. 2-tlis made 245; T. Scarfc disposed of 4 at 23s 9d and 5 at 25s 9d. A UCTIOXEKRS’ R EPORT. The Associated Auctioneers report on the Feinting suie: A medium yarding of 5065 siurc oueep were penned, tlie quality not being up lo the standard ol recent saies. I lie entry comprised two or three pens ol lwo and lour-iooth ewes, and several pens ot five and six-year-old ewes, the balance being made up ot medium ewe and wether lumps. The market was quiet throughout the auction, with values lor ewes on aooul a par with last week's sale, whilst lambs can bo quoted back fully Is per bead. A small yarding of 581 tat sheep eold under good competition, with prices showing an appreciation of lullv Is a bead lor wethers, with ewes about the same as last week’s rates. An over-supply of fat cattle (252) resulted in a drop ol Hilly 10s a bead on last week’s sale. Tho yarding comprised some good quality oiution beef ami ex-dairy sorts. Owing to ihe congestion in the works, one or two prominent buyers were noL operating lor boner cows, resulting in a decided drop in values. Another good yarding of approximately 500 head of run cattle came torward, comprising a pen of 32-year Hereford steers in good condition, several pens of 18 months and 2j,-yeav-old steets, with odd pens of cows and hcifcis and five pens of yearling cattle, lucre was a fair inquiry for 1 lie well-bred. hues,, but buvers wore working on a definite limit, and although practically the whole of the yarding changed bands, there was no improvement in prices. A small yarding ot 103 dairy cattle mot with keen competition for all voting cows and heifers close to profit, and kite rates were fully maintained.
