21ST BIRTHDAY PARTY.
Inspector and Mrs H. Scott, of Fitzlierbert Avenue, entertained friends and relatives to an enjoyable party last Saturday evening in honour of the twenty-first birthday of their daughter. Miss Eunice Scott. There was an attendance of more than fifty at the gathering, which was held at the P.D.O. tea-rooms. Visitors were present from Christchurch, Wellington. Dannevirke, Ashhurst, and Feilding. as well as local residents. Elocutionary items were given by Miss Freda Whittaker and Mr Oliver. Competitions and dancing occupied most of the time, music being played by Mr W. Lewis at the piano. Miss Scott sang two solos. The usual speeches were made at supper time, when a birthday cake, suitably decorated, was on the table. Mr H. J. Edwards, of Wellington, who acted as M.C., proposed the toast of Miss Scott, after which she was presented with the usual key.
