ST. DAVID'S GUILD.
There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of St. David’s Ladies’ Guild, on Wednesday. Daldias, marigolds, and sweet peas formed attractive decorations. Mrs A. Stewart presided and welcomed those present, especially Mesdamcs Campbell and Gordon, from the Milson Church, Mesdames Hunter, Newcombe, Fleming, Mailman and Taylor. ft was reported that the sum of £ls 19s 5d had been raised by the jumble sale and members wore asked to contribute to the supper for the forthcoming trollev evening, and to t he slipper at the Salvation Army Citadel for the Maori Battalion next Sunday. Tfc had been decided that the St. David’s and-St. Andrew’s Guilds would combine to take charge of the patriotic shop from April 29 to May 4. Mrs Stewart outlined the method of conducting the shop and asked for voluntarv workers and donations. An invitation to he present at a welcome to Commissioner Eva ns-Smith had been received from the Salvation Armv. A competition was conducted bv Mrs A. Ashby and won by Mrs A. Smith. Mrs G. T. Smith contributed songs, accompanied by Mrs W.-E. Anderson, j and Adrienne McDonald also sang, being accompanied by her mother, Mrs
J. McDonald. A further competition was won by Mrs R. Mayo. The hostesses were Mesdames A. Ashby, A. R. Acheson and A. C. Allen, and Mrs J. Murray played the 'accompaniment for the opening hymn. The hostesses and entertainers were thanked by Mrs J. Davidson.
