AUSTRALIAN TRADE.
PURCHASES FROM UNITED STATES. NEW YORK, April 10. The Australian Minister (Mr R. G. Casey), at the Economic Club, stressed that the world war and the depression had taught Australia that she could not live apart from the world. He emphasised the country’s political, financial and industrial stability and explained that the tenfold increase in war expenditure had necessitated a limitation of other dollar purchases, but tho total bought from the United States was likely to bo increased.
