STOUT DEFENCE.

NORWEGIANS IN NORTH. LONDON, April 10. In the north and west the Norwegians are showing a fighting spirit slated earlier messages. Around Narvik in the north, units of the Norwegian army have never withdrawn further than 10 miles from the coast, where they have found it easy to improvise stout defence lines in the mountains. Norwegian army officers are confident of their ability to hold the passes, and point out that another place further north is still in Norwegian hands. These reports from the north tally with those from the south, both on the west coast and around Oslo itself. The Stockholm radio announced that the Germans had occupied the British Consulate at Trondheim and interned the staff, and that 1200 soldiers were stationed in the city.
