TAKARO AMENITIES.
PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION. At the monthly meeting of the general committee of the Takaro Progressive Association those present were Messrs E. H. Smith (chairman), G. Jamieson. E. Boreham, J. Spooner, H. Wykes, junr.. Me-dames D. Evans, P. Jamieson, H. L.vall, It. Packer. J. Spooner. Apologies were received from Messrs J. Wass, It. Packer. J. Cribb and H. Wykes. senr. A vote of sympathy was accorded Mr Cribb with the hope for a speedy recovery from his illness. The Jamieson Clip competition was discussed, the results being to hand' 'Pile committee felt that a letter of thanks should go to Mr and Mrs Galland for their co operation in judging, also that an invitation io attend the annual meeting he extended xo rliem. The judges congratulated the district on having so manv householders who devote so much time and labour to beautifying their surroundings. It was decided to invite the winner and runners-up to attend the annual meeting. It was decided that an honorarium he granted to tne hon. secretary. It is pleasing to note that improvements are being made to the Kawau Drain. Mr Jamieson moved a vote of thanks to the chairman for his past services and splendid efforts to keep the association going.
