FARM LABOUR.
SUBSIDY SUGGESTED. Pei* Press Association. WHANG A R El, April 11. “I must confess that the solution of the difficulty is a thing which puzzles me. I am afraid that some form of subsidy appears inevitable in present circumstances,” said Mr W. E. Hale, chairman of the Dairy Board, at a ward meeting in Whangarei to-day. He was referring to the labour problem affecting farmers, and added that, if there were to be increased production next year, the labour problem would have to be tackled seriously by the Government, the only authority able to deal with the matter.
