FUNERAL SERVICE.
'l’he funeral of the late John Stevens took place on Tuesday at the Feilding cemetery, following a gathering of friends at the residence of his parents, Mr and Mrs J. Stevens, Manchester Street, Feilding, and a service at the Anglican Church. Schoolmates were present from Marton Junction, Palmerston North Technical School, and Manchester Street (Feilding) School. The pall-bearers at the house and the church were Messrs Cecil, Claude, and James Stevens (brothers), S. Richards, W. Ellis, and E. Simpson, while at the cemetery members of the Foresters’ Lodge, Messrs J. Noble, W. Towler, H. E. Smith, H. Smith. E. Worsfold. P. Jaggard, W. Pcngally, and J. Fitzgerald. acted as bearers. Numerous floral tributes were received, these being attended to by the school representatives. THANKS. Mr and Mrs James Stevens, of 140 Manchester Street, Feilding, desire to thank all kind friends for their sympathy, letters, or messages of condolence, gifts of flowers, and all who attended the funeral, and especially those who offered their cars.
