RANGITIKEI.
IvIARTON, Jan. 29. Miss A. Franke, of Pukekolic is the guest of her aunt, Mrs Black. In the November examinations of the Roy a. Academy and Royal College of Music, Betty Lawson passed the rudiments ot music with 87 marks out of a possible 99. The following business was transacted upon the resumption of the Rangitikei County Council s . meeting yestarday afternoon: —Mr Mail’ reported that Mr Hair, of Rata, was prepared to let the council have a suitable accommodation paddock. The spread of noxious weeds in the boroughs and town districts over which the council has no control was the subject of a short discussion. It uas decided to draw the attention of this matter again to the Minister of Agriculture, instancing one patch of approximately two acres of blackberry in full bloom. It was decided to circularise adjoining counties and the Patea and Waitotara counties asking them s to co-operate ’in the matter of coping with noxious weeds. The engineer is to report at the next meeting upon a suitable site for a roadman s cottage on Parewauui Road.
