RONGOTEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA, Jan. 31. Mr 11. J. Crawford, of the, Palmerston North Presbyterian Outfields Mission, is proceeding at once to Seacliff, Dunedin (accompanied by Mrs Crawford), and will take up studies at Ivnox. College preparatory to entering the ministry. On Sunday morning Mr Crawford conducted a farewell service at Rongotea, and made reference to the happy opportunities he had enjoyed of fellowship in Church life and the homes of many friends during his fifteen months’ residence in tho district. . Nearly six hundred cars parked in the vicinity of Mr R. Mclvolvie’s home on Saturday afternoon, was a striking evidence of' the influx of visitors who attended the garden party arranged by the women’s branch of the National Party. Eight gallons of cream were disposed of, and was not sufficient to meet the demand, while £2l 11s 9d was received at tho produce stall. . Mr and Mrs Dudley Prior, of Thames, have been visiting Mr and Mrs W. Davis Rongotea. Mrs E. A. Croad has gone to Carterton. Visitors to Rongotea over the week-end included Mr K 1. Glover, of Cambridge, and Mr C. Noe . of Hamilton. Miss A. K. Riehards will not resume duty as teacher when school reopens, as she is an inmate of the Levin Hospital and has been granted a month s leave of absence.
