ASHHURST
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASHHURST, Jan. 31. On Saturday a gift evening was held by tho Hall Committee in aid of the stalls for the Gala Day. The entertainment consisted of games, items, and dancing, the music being supplied by Airs Hewitt. Items wore rendered by the following:— Solos, Airs Alaul; pianoforte solo, Miss M. Bristow; tap dance, Aliss D. McKinlay. The winners of the games were Aliss AI. Woodroofe and Mrs L. Smith. The duties of AI.C. were carried out by Air T. Patton. Alembers of the local Tennis Club entertained members of the Awahou North Club at a tennis afternoon bold on Saturday. The weather was ideal and several sets were played. Air and Mrs Finlay, who have been spending their vacation in tho South Island, have returned home. Airs Tunnicliffe and family have arrived homo after a holiday at Porangabau Beach. Airs Pederson, of Auckland, 13 the guest of her mother, Airs Tremewan, Bunnythorpe Road. Mrs Jackson and family have returned to Wanganui after spending their holiday with Airs Flowers, Fcilding Road. Mrs R. Davis, of Fcilding, has returned home from a week’s holiday in Wellington.
