Mrs J. Fraser, of Palmerston North, is spending a lew days in Wellington. Miss J. Bishop and Miss E. Hatch, who have been spending a vacation in Wanganui, have returned to Palmerston North. Mrs A. L. Robinson and Miss A. G. Robinson, of Church Street, Palmerston North, are visitors to Wellington. Mrs S. C. Ivnight has returned to Palmerston North after spending a few days with her daughter, Mrs Mervyn Walker, of Eltham. At the January meeting of the Townswomen’s Guild the president (Mrs A. E. Mansford), on behalf of the members, offered to Mrs R. D. Spraggon, who is leaving shortly on a health trip to Sydney, best wishes for her holiday. Mention was made yesterday afternoon at the monthly meeting of the Townswomen’s Guild of the enthusiasm of Mrs G. Lyne, of the gardening circle, who had journeyed from Paekakariki, where she is spending a holiday, to assist with the arrangement of the flowers as is her custom. Mrs Lyne returned to Paekakariki during the afternoon. <At the monthly meeting of the Townswomen’s Guild, which was held yesterday afternoon, a welcome was accorded Mrs A. Mrs E. H. Haythorne of Palmerston North, has returned from spending a holiday at Rotorua. Mrs Cuthbert Freybcrg, _of North Street, Palmerston North, is a visitor to Auckland. Miss M. H. Ward, formerly matron of the Hope Gibbous Maternity Hospital, Wanganui, commenced her duties as matron of Massey College today. Miss M. Gerbich, of Wellington, is the. guest of Mr and Mrs Frank GerMch, Willis Street. Miss Hazel Johnson, of Massey College, who has been absent on holiday, has returned to Palmerston North. Miss McKittriek, infant mistress at the Pahiatua District High School, has been appointed to the position of assistant at the Epsom Normal School, Auckland. Miss Renner, of Wellington, has been appointed to relieve at the Pahiatua School in the place of Miss McKittriek. Rev. J. S. Pate and Mrs Pate who, accompanied by Miss Pate, have been spending a holiday in the South Island, have returned to their home at Terrace End. Their friends will be pleased to learn that Mr Pate has made a good recovery from his recent illness. After participating in the Dominion croquet tournament at Wanganui, Mrs W. E. Caldow, who is the official referee for the New Zealand Croquet Council, was a week-end visitor to Palmerston North on her way back to Wellington.
