RARE STAMPS.

UNUSUAL DISCOVERY. Reecived January 31, 9-35 a.m. AMSTERDAM, Jan. 30. A rare example of the famous Mauritius orange penny stamp, worth £550, recently owned by a charwoman who died a pauper has been discovered. The stamp was on a picture representing a trotting horse, which a clergyman gave to the charwoman in 1912. Her relatives sold the picture for 3d. A butcher acquired it for 3s, began examining the stamps, and realised that some were valuable. He sold the whole picture to a stamp expert for £9OO.
