FAMOUS COMPOSER.

r' FILED AS BANKRUPT. LONDON, Jan. -28. A bankruptcy petition has been filed in respect of Nat Eyre, who during the War set the Empire singing “If You Were the Only Girl in the World” from which he made £3OOO. He also composed “Great Big Beautiful Doll” and “Tire Bing Boys” and other wartime favourites. He told the Daily Mail: “I am down but not out.” He said that he intended to continue composing, but pointed out that the people tired of new numbers which were over quickly. A song could live in the pre-War days, but now it was dead almost as soon as it leaves the composer’s piano.
