MEETING OF POWERS.

GENEVA. Jan. 28. Great importance is attached to private meetings between Mr Eden (Britain), M. Delbos (France), M. Litvnov (Russia), and Dr Wellington Koo (China). It is understood that they reached a tentative agreement plan to assist China, hut French adherence will depend on M. Chautemps’s approval. The United States was also asked to collaborate. Dr Koo is reported to have demanded action by the League, but the meeting decided to assist China outside the League machinery with credits and supplies transported through Hong Kong. This is satisfactory to the Chinese as they believe they can prolong the war into a stalemate if they continue to receive war material.
