DR. HAMMOND’S VISIT.
The attention of readers is drawn to the two public functions that have been arranged in connection with the. visit of Dr John Hammond, D.Sc., to this centre. This eminent specialist is in New Zealand in an advisory capacity and is a recognised authority throughout tho world on carcase quality with respect to cattle, sheep and pig products, and is one of those who invariably mako the awards at Smithfield on show export exhibits. It should be particularly noted by dairy farmers that at the evening function Dr Hammond is dealing with the matter of sterility of farm stock. This being a subject of great importance to breeders, it is expected that there will be a largo attendance of all concerned. ■
