PERISHABLE GOODS. VALUABLE RESULTS ACCRUE. HANDLING OF WOOL. (United Press Association.—By Electric T eleg rapli.—Copyright.) Received January 31 9.35 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 30. The Department of Industrial and Scientific Research in a report says that investigations, with the co-opera-tion of New Zealand and Australia, into the development of the jacket system of refrigeration and gas storage for the transport of perishable goods have yielded valuable results as a basis lor future research. It reveals that shrinkage resistance treatment for wool is liable to produce a harsh handle and deterioration of resistance to wear, for which reason a new laboratory technique has been adopted to avoid side reactions.
