HOKITIKA SCHOOL.

DIAMOND JUBILEE. Per Press Association. HOKITIKA, Jan. 29. The celebrations In connection with the diamond jubilee of the Hokitika State School commenced to-day, having been postponed last year owing to the epidemic. A large number of old scholars and teachers have arrived from all parts of the Dominion to participate in the gathering. The proceedings opened in the afternoon with a monster procession to the school, where a welcome was extended. In the evening a banquet is being held in the Soldiers’ Hall. On Sunday there will be a Church parade and a visit to Lake Kanieri and on Monday a sports afternoon, the proceedings closing with a ball at night. The weather conditions are satisfactory.
