NOTES.

Feilding wool firms and their staffs held their annual picnic to-day at Foxton Beach. The Feilding Jockey Club is at present negotiating with the Feilding A. and P. Association for a strip of land. The additional land is required to enable the club to provide a straight start for its seven furlong races. The negotiations, if successful, will eliminate the necessity for starting the seven furlong races round the bend at the top end of the course. The Randtikei Itivor is stated to be verv discoloured this morning and unsuitable for fishing. The Oroua River is in a similar condition.
