FEILDING STOCK SALE.
B.F. LAMBS IN GOOD DEMAND, j FAT SHEEP~AT PARITY. : The Feilding stock sale yesterday attracted a good attendance. A very heavy entry of store lambs came forward, but the pick of the white faced wether lambs sold at prices hardly tip to recent quotations. For medium class white-faced lambs the market was substantially better and a good clearance was made at very satisfactory prices. The market for black-faced lambs was strong and prices Ihowed a firming tendency. Store -wethers were easier in values.
J. A. T. Brown, Sandon Block, sold 100 w.f.w. lambs at 17s 7d and 72 at 17s 6d ; 137 shorn wether lambs on account E. Kerrigan made 14s 4d; Mrs B. L. Lambert secured 15s 7d for a pen of 247 w.f.w. lambs; 76 Pohangina Valley w.f.w. lambs offered by J. C. McEwen. Utuwai, realised 13s sd, while J. Young sold a pen of 175 similar sheep at 12s 6d; w.f.w. lambs from the Eketahuna district with 127 in the pen realised 16s Bd. Lots of 23, 57, 52, 15, 20 w.f.w. lambs off the sandy Carnarvon country made only 6s 9d, 8s 2d, 10s 6d, Bs, 6s 3d, respectively. The specially advertised entries of wether lambs on account T. Willis Est., Hunterville, realised the following rates: 338 at 15s 9d, 102 at 11s 7d, 100 at 11s lOd; 219 Colyton w.f.w. lambs offered on account Mr Langddn made 13s 8d; E. M. Meyrick’s 125 w.f.w. lambs realised 15s 9d, while 101 (2-ths.) on account W. Reid made 19s 7d. B. McLeod (Colyton) secured 11s 2d for a pen of 150 w.f.w. lambs. W. A. Bailey (Taonui), sold a pen of 50 w.f.w. lambs at 15s a head; 13s 6d was paid for a pen of 75 offered on account of J. S. Mclntyre. J. Young secured 13s lOd a head for a line containing 175 w.f.w. • lambs. A pen of 52 sold on account M. A. Eliott made 15s 7d. Sandon grown w.f.w. lambs offered by F. S. Collier realised good prices and 18s was paid for his pen of 56 and 20s for his line 3f 272. Black faced lambs sold included the following:—On account W. H. Power, Colyton, 191 at 18s; on account T. E. Craine. Kiwitea, 160 at 15s 9d, 100 at 15s lid, a quantity at 15s fid, 135 at 11s 8d ; on account D. W. Reid, Eeilding, 101 at 17s 4d; on account M, A. Eliott, 188 at 16s 6d; on account B. McLeod, Colyton, 300 at 13s 4d, 252 at 13s Id, 58 at 15s 3d; on account T. Hammond, 99 at 13s Id; on account C. R. Best, 50 at 15s Id; on account R. W. Brown, Colyton, 95 at 17s 8d; on account J. Ludeman, Aorangi, 95 at 15s lOd. Ewe lambs. —A pen of 75 offered on account of F. D. Collis, Kairanga. realised 245, while 161 on account O. A. Collis, Kairanga, also made 245; 50 Carnarvon ewe lambs offered on account of the McKelvie Estate, made 13s 3d; 79 2-th. w.f. wethers submitted on behalf of D. C. Manngli, Halcombe, made 17s 9d and 84 2-th. b.f.’s on same account 18s. A pen of 71 breeding ewes made 13s 7d and another line of 87 on account of W. T. White, Kiwitea, realised 14s sd; J. J. Curry, Colyton, sold 130 5-yr. ewes at 18s; 149 2-tli. ewes offered by E. G. Thompson, Eeilding, made 25s Sd, while another pen. on account same vendor and containing 211 made 295. H.' E. Port secured 27s 3d for a pen of 69 2-th. ewes. T. Still (Kiwitea) secured 17s 6d for 99 sound- mouthed ewes. FAT SHEEP.
The medium-sized entry of Tat sheep met with just fair competition, and quite a few pens of wethers were passed. Prices, however, for the lines sold were on a par with late export rates. Woolly b.f.’s made lip to 27s and shorn w.f. wethers to 255; fl-tli ewes realised up to 18s 6d; shorn b.f.’s realised up to 24s 3d. Among the sales effected were the following: Lambs. —One on account W. J. Corpe, 20s 6d; 4 on account Mrs Sykes, Rewa. 19s 2d; 6 on account F. Webb, Glen Oroua, 19s one, same vendor, 18s 6d. Other quotations: 3 at 14s, one at-17s, 20 at 17s 2d, 6 at 19s, one b.f. at 21s 6d. W.f. wethers. —5 on account A. J. Reid, 23s 6d; 6 on account F. S. Collier, 14s; 14 (2-ths.) on account A.. Duthie. 23s lOd. B.f.’s; 20 on account D. C. Managli. Feilding, 24s 3d and pens of 14 and 13 on same account, 23s and 225, respectively. R. T. Griffin, Aorangi, secured 22s Id for a pen of 11 and W. Ward realised 23s for a pen of 20 and 22s for another containing 16. F. Shapleski’s 16 b.f.’s made 23s 3d and another pen belonging to the same vendor brought 23s Id. There were 21 in the line. Eleven w.f. wethers offered by T. O’Regan made 255, while J. Ludeman secured 24s Id for 23 w.f.’s. Pens containing 18. 26, and 19 w.f.’s on account W. Ward made 245. 245, and 24s Bd, respectivelv. F. Shnpleski’s 23 w.f.’s sold at 23s 9d. H. E. Port accented 19s for a pen of 21 w.f.’s. J. Peacock, Glen Oroua, secured 23s for a small pen of. 10 w.f.’s. Ewes'.—The following lines comprised the fat ewes sold at auction: On account R. Buchanan. Feilding, 33 at 16s 6d; on account F. Webb. Glen Oroua, 15 at 16s 4d; on account A. Duthie, Feilding. 18 at 17s 6d: on account W. J. Corpe, Feilding. 2 (6ths.), at 18s 6d; on account D. W. Vile. Kelvin Grove. 7 at 17s 7d, 2 at 16s, one 2-tli. at 225. CATTLE. Store cattle.—Prices realised for store cows and heifers were as follow: —Cows, £2, £2 12s 6d. £2 17s 6d, £3, £3 2s 6d, £3 ss; £3 6s, £3 7s 6d, £3 10s, £3 12s 6d, £3 15s, £3 17s 6d, £4, £4 ss, £4 10s; heifers, £3. Dairy cattle. —The few lines of dairy ixnvs and heifers offered in the dairy section sold to good competition. Quotations: Springing cows, £4 15s, £6 15s, £7 10s; springing heifers, £4, £4 ss, £4 10s, £6 17s 6d, £7 10s; cows in milk, £4 10s, £7; weaner heifers £2 7s; yearling heifers, £2 Is; dairy bulls (Jerseys), £3 2s 6d, £3 15s, '£4 ss, £5, £6 2s 6d, £6 17s 6d. Fat cattle—The small entry did not ifieet with a strong sale, and prices iVere a shade easier. J. Harris sold two cows at £6 10s, and 4 at £7 6s. also two heifers at £8 12s 6d. A. Montgomerie, Awahuri, secured £4 17s 6d and. £6 5s for two cows. O. M. Lean sold two cows at £4 15s, and J. Wallace (Aorangi) one at‘£4 12s Other quotations: Cows, £4 2s 6d, £4 4s. £4 ss, £4 7s 6d. £4 10s, £4 14s £4 15s, £4 12s 6d, £5 ss, .£5 14s! £5 15s, £6 6h. £6 15s-, £7 15s; Jersey steers, £6 12s 6d; vealers, £1 2s 6d; runners, £4 7s 6d. Station cattle—Steers: 16 at £7 2s, 19 at £5 11s, 1 at £3 10s; 15 months do £4 10s; Hereford heifers, £6 is 6d;’ Red Poll do., £6 7s 6d.
