FIGHTING AT STANDSTILL
CHINESE CLAIM. Received January 28, 8.5 a.m. SHANGHAI, Jan. 27. There is scarcely any word of fighting on any front. The Chinese claim to have repulsed a Japanese attempt at landing at Hasmaoslian, on the south shore of Hangchow Bay, likewise the crossing of the Tseingtang River.
