GARDEN PARTY.

The committee of the Southern Division of the Manawatu electorate are leaving no stone unturned to make the garden party to be field at Mr and Mrs R. Me Kel vie s | residence a huge success. Already numerous offers of assistance and donations have been received. Any supporters of the National Party who arc desirous of assisting can do so by bringing along cakes, pro ducc, etc. As this is election year, and financial assistance is necessary, the committee would bo pleased if supporters would rally round, and help. There will be numerous games, competitions, etc., such as nail-driving, chain-stepping, tennis, croquet, clock golf, and many others. There will also be a baby show, which should attract considerable attention; there will be four classes, two for girls and two for boys, with good prizes. A Plunkct nurse will act as judge. Highland dancing will also provide interest. The garden party will be officially opened by Hon. J. G. Cobbe, who is the National Party candidate for Manawatu electorate. There will also be present the leader of tho party (Hon. A. Hamilton) and Mr S. G. Holland, M.P. for Christchurch North, accompanied by Mr J. M. Power, Wellington divisional I secretary. All desirous of meeting these i gentlemen arc urged to be present. Further particulars are advertised elsewhere in this issue.
