LICENSE FOR DANCE.

MISS BATTEN’S PLANS. Received January 27. 9.35 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 26. The Wimbledon Police Court has granted Miss Jean Batten, Through her agent, Mr John Ashford Smith, an occasional license for a public dance at the Palais de Dance, Merton, on January 28.

Mr Smith said that ho is organising dances throughout the country in an effort to collect funds for another flight. “It is really Miss Batten’s dance, but the management of the hall will take half the receipts,” he said. A later message states that Miss Batten, interviewed bv the Australian Associated Press, said that she did not know that the dance would be. licensed. She has now cancelled her appearance.
