NEW POLICE STATION.

CALLING OF TENDERS. Following a long delay, a commencement may be made shortly with the building of the new police station for Palmerston North. Mr J. Hodgens, M.P., when in Wellington yesterday, received a definite assurance that tenders would be called this week-end for tlie work. Temporary accommodation will have to be found for the police headquarters when the demolition of the present building commences, this being necessary to make room for the new station, which will be a model building of its kind, involving some new departures in its interior design.
