BOWLING.
MANAWATU CENTRE. PLANS FOR FUTURE. A meeting of the Manawatu Bowling Centre yesterday afternoon, Mr J'. A. Nash presiding. Also present were Messrs A. Cooksley (Takaro), P. S. Larcomb (Northern), and A. F. Wimsett (secretary). Arrangements were made. for a centre team of 16 rinks to visit the Wairarnpa on February 5. The new Hokowhitu Bowling Club was accepted for affiliation. It was reported that, by direction of the New Zealand Bowling Association, all bowls used in tournaments must, in future, bear the 1932 or subsequent stamp Teams from Levin, Shannon and Foxton will visit Palmerston North on February 17 and will play city rinks on the Takaro green. On March 5 eight rinks fiom clubs through the Gorge will play city rinks on the Manawatu green. The champion of champions singles contest was set down to be held on February 26, on the Northern green; the champion pairs at the Takaro green on March o; and the champion rinks on the Palmerston North green on March 12.
It was decided to inaugurate a junior champion of champions singles competition, to be played at the Manawatu green on February 26.
