Results of to-day’s play were: OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. Third round.—l*. C. Bryan beat C. Ha Koche, 26—8. 26—5; Mrs Palmer beat E. W. Yeitch, 26—13, 26—10. Semi-finals : F. C. Bryan beat J. Tannock, 26—9, 13—29, 26—13; Mrs Watkins beat Mrs Palmer, 26—20, 26—7. WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP. First Life. Final.—Mrs Simpson beat Mrs Brass, 26—15. Second Life. Semifinal.—Mrs Anstis beat Mrs Alouatt. 26—14. Final: Airs Anstis beat Mrs Keys, 26—18. AIEN’S 'CHAAIPIONSHIP. First Life. Second round.—C. La Roche beat F. L. Hartnell, 26—8, 26 —8. Semi-final: C. CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES.
Tho finals of the championship doubles were played between F L. Hartnell (New Plymouth) and Airs 'Drake (Gonville) and Air and Airs Bryan (Wellington). Soon a.fter the game commenced, Hartnell made a break and set for his partner. Bryan hit in but did not get position, but in the next turn went to four back. After this both Airs Bryan and Airs Alorgan gradually worked their respective clips round and in-and-out play was a feature until Mrs Bryan, in taking off a ball on baulk, did not reach a good position and missed the 6hot. After this the Wellington players did not again get the balls, the 6core ending 26—22 in favour of F. L. Hartnell and Airs Alorgan. AIEN’S CHAAIPIONSHIP.
F. C. Bryan and A. J. Gibbs. — Bryan had practically ' finished the game, with the clips on penultimate and the peg. when Gibbs, playing carefully, made a round, pegging out his opponent’s ball. Bryan shot in, made penultimate, and again shot in to make rover, but ,-ould not get another shot before G*inne, with careful play, made all the points for his other ball, a.nd finished a hard-fought game 2q 25 WO AIEN’S CHAAIPIONSHIP. Aire Palmer v. Mrs Simpson.—Both played cautiously, and on account or the keenness of the lawn were finding it difficult to approach the hoops with accuracy. Airs Palmer eventually got her clips on the peg and penultimate when, in shooting for her partner’s ball, she accidentally hit.the peg, putting that ball out. At this stage, Airs Simpson was on four back and rover, and was successful in negotiating these points before Airs Palmer coula shoot m. This win brings Airs Simpson into the finals of one life of the ladies.
