HARDWOOD SLEEPERS.

WEEVIL INFESTATION. Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, Jan. 27. Further investigation into the weevil infestation of Australian hardwood sleepers recently imported for the south main trunk line is being made by Public Works Department officials and Mr R. H. Cook (forestry inspector of the New South Wales Forestry Department), and Mr E. Blow (representative of the suppliers). The party is expected to return to Blenheim this evening. Their report on the investigation and the conference between the parties will be made to Mr Semple.
