COUPLE KILLED

BOMBS WRECK HOUSE. TRAGEDY IN SYDNEY. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received Januyar 28, 11.30 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 28. Two terrific explosions wrecked the home of Alfred Ernest Smith, aged 53, at Lidcombe, a suburb, early this morning and killed Mr Smith and his wife, Mrs Mary Ann Smith, aged 51. Their bodies were buried under piles of wreckage. Two bombs were thrown into the front room.

Three children, who were sleeping in the back of the house, were not injured. Mr Smith was the organiser of the Meat Union at the Homebush Abattoirs and the . police believe that the outrage may have been caused through his activities.
