BEHIND SCHEDULE.

BRITISH AIR REARMAMENT.

LONDON, Jan. 27.

The Daily Mail’s aeronautical writer says investigation reveals disquieting facts concerning the production of the “shadow” factories and the general condition of British air rearmament. Both the “shadow” and air frame factories are far behind schedule. Both the Battle and Blenheim type of bombers will be from three to five years old when the “shadow” factories begin to issue them. The Daily Mail, in a leading article, says Britain’s rearmament has been dogged by delays, lack of drive and indecision. The “shadow” scheme was formulated two years ago, but now promises to be no more than a “shadow” scheme. When the factories begin deliveries Britain will be equipped with an obsolescent- air force.
