CHAIRMAN TO RESIGN.

FROM BRITISH COMPANY. LONDON, Jan. 26. Owing to the tremendous strain of his dual posts, Lord McGowan is resigning the managing directorship of Imperial Chemical Industries, but will remain chairman of the combine.

The Daily Mail says that in future it is expected that Lord McGowan will preside as chairman over a committee of executive directors, each of whom will control a particular section.
