E, Leeson, Morrinsville, Mr Howard Smith, Patumahoe; North Auckland, Mr G. H. Guy, Ivaikohe. In the choice of officers an endeavour has been made to provide as broad a basis of representation as possible and the personnel embraces farming, manufacturing, commerce and the professions. Several sub-committees . have been appointed to deal with particular departments of the asociation’s activities. Offices have been secured and are being made ready for immediate occupation. It was stated on behnlf of the association that those who had been responsible for a large amount of preliminary work were particularly pleased with the response made to their requests for co-operation. There was an evident and very widespread feeling that such an association was urgently needed and that the march toward State domination over private life and individual affairs had already gone too far. Letters of appreciation, accompnied by offers of assistance, had poured in from all parts of the province and there were indications that similar associations with a common purpose would be established in other provinces.
